Despite the theft-prevention systems and equipment now on the market, 500 pieces of heavy construction equipment are stolen in the United Stated each week, and only 10%-15% of it is recovered.

Definately a big problem. Get lockable job boxes or if the job is big enough get a conex. Implement security procedures such as having someone onsite that is responsible for making sure everyone is off site at the end of the day and the things that should be locked are locked.
