Excavation!

As many of you know I am testing the waters about starting my own excavation company to work co-inherient with my design/build company. I found this today and called around and it is supposed to be the best but I was looking for some more info on some other software related to the excavation buisness!

BTW- I had a C.E.O of a big excavation company here in Dallas tell me that if I am going to do it, get ready to not have any time for my design/build company so I guess I will have to see.

I think I've made my opinion known on bidding software and the restrictions it puts on you.. but I'll reiterate.
A program will never be able to tell you what you and your workforce is capable of producing.
First, it provides all estimators access to one automatically updated centralized cost resource database
But that's just my opinion :)

I agree but I have heard you can enter how many employees and how much equipment you have and the pace of there work to get a more accuarate bid.

Well for that price ($3500) it should be able to bid by itself.. scan some documents in and done :)
I'd probably look at Timberline for that kind of money.

One of the really nice things about timberline is that you can integrate with cad for takeoffs and the like.

Another nice module is the Cut & Fill - if you're getting into excavation.
