Depends on how much you want to spend. Primavera Project Planner is an excellent one if you have a couple grand.. if not try Suretrak.

For Rich who spends weeks maybe months on one project this is a great program. For me this would be a disaster, because we spend a day or three on any given jobsite.

I spoke briefly in the office management topic about a program I have been developing for the past many many months. Part of the duty of this program is to store the schedule. A crew leader can log in and see what the next job is going to be, even click on the job to see the work order and material list. He can do t his from his home or any computer with an internet connection.

A dummied up version will be linked to the web site so customers can get an idea of when their job is scheduled.

Right now we use a dry erase board that has been marked off to look like a calendar. This method works pretty good BUT you have zero remote capabilities.

Grumpy how far along is your software it looks like it would be really good. Keep me updated on it, I could be your first buyer.

Think how nice that would be for a service guy grumpy. Login in the morning and see all the tickets - could line out a route to be the most efficient for that day.
P3 for sure would be overkill for a short term scheduling program.. suretrak would probably be overkill also. Definately geared towards the CPM / longer projects.
